Global eBusiness VP from VELUX to eCapacity
Andreas Petersson is one of the young digital veterans in the Danish business life. Since 2010, the 37-year old quantum physicist has developed VELUX’ digital business into a 67-man strong eBusiness department. By launching 45 direct ecommerce sites, 42 marketing websites and 15 different apps, he has sharpened and executed the global window manufacturer’s business strategy and geared it to the conditions of an increasingly digital world. His latest accomplishment was to expand the online curtain and accessories sales to include the company’s core product, the VELUX window, sold directly to end customers in the UK market.

This kind of operation obviously requires bits and bytes. However, the most important thing, according to Andreas Petersson, is the ability to foster cooperation among employees, a sense of passion for the digital transformation as well as a clear direction from top management.
NEW PARTNER AND DIRECTOR
From now on, it is not only VELUX that can benefit from Andreas Petersson’s sharp look at how human and computer-driven businesses can solve complex strategic dilemmas. On November 1st, Andreas Petersson stepped down as VP of Global eBusiness at VELUX to join eCapacity as Director and Partner. At the 10-year-old Strategy and Analysis consultancy Andreas Petersson assumes the responsibility for the analytics business and to help customers such as Sky and Pandora, Novo Nordisk and Grundfos or B&O and LEGO to manage and evolve their data-driven businesses.
RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE ANALYSIS BUSINESS
“Digital business starts and ends with data,” says Per Rasmussen, eCapacity’s founder and CEO. “We are increasingly seeing that personalization of digital channels is no longer just talk. That is something you want to have implemented and to be working. That, and the issues surrounding managing and activating the huge data flow from websites, apps and social media. All of this is Andreas Petersson’s home ground. ”
STRATEGY, QUANTUM PHYSICS AND BOOKS
Andreas Petersson holds a Master degree in Quantum physics and Mathematics from Lund University and a business strategy management degree from Lund University. When he does not work, you might find him training triathlon in and around Øresund or playing squash. He also likes to spend time with friends and family and to dive into a good book. Now “Four Days in November” by Vincent Bugliosi is the book of choice on Andreas’s bedside table.
